DOROTHY
KENT
Dorothy is retired and lives on a small lake south of Mattoon, Illinois along
with her husband. Her life's ambition was to be a wife and mother, and she
has definitely reached those goals! She has six children, two 'permanent'
foster children (plus the care of six others through the years), and twelve
grandchildren (and one more on the way)!
Dorothy earned a BA degree from Eastern Illinois University where her
main focus was Psychology and English. While in school, she competed
in Forensics (a speech competition among various schools) winning first
place in Speech to Entertain and third place in Informative Speaking.
Her hobbies include reading (especially spy/intrigue/mystery stories!),
crafts, horseback riding and sewing. She regularly volunteers at the
Paradise Equestrian Therapy Center, an equestrian therapy program for
children and adults with disabilities in her community.
Her books include: Making Toys at Home for Money
Her short stories include: The Child, One Dark Night plus several
children's stories that have not found a publisher yet! She has also had
numerous poems published and has won third place in the Browning
Award Competition.
